Natural Dye Workshop - Eucalyptus and Local Native Plants
Beginner textile dyeing
Samorn will introduce you to a world of natural dyeing where you will learn traditional methods used by weavers and textile artisans of Laos. Learn about local Australian native plants, berries, and flowers, their dyeing properties, how we extract the colour and methods used to obtain different shades of pigments. How to keep and store dyes for use out of season and best dyes for the different natural fibres. Finally, the traditional techniques we use to set our dyes. In this hands-on course, you will explore a variety of natural hand dyeing and colour application techniques and create your own fabulous colours on natural fabrics using natural methods and materials.
