Artists residing at Among The Trees

We are blessed to be sharing space with the artists and makers listed below. If you’d like to contact them or commission work, we recommend contacting an artist or maker directly rather than visiting them in store.

Nick Thompson

baileythompsonfurniture.com + @bailey_thompson_furniture

I'm a woodworker utilising only reclaimed and found timber to make small furniture such as house plant stands and stools. I believe that constraint breeds creativity and this works particularly well within the realms of reclaimed materials, creating something beautiful and functional with what you have.

Enrico Pastrello

142woodenheart.com.au + @142_woodenheart

I am the artisan behind 142 Wooden Heart. I have always been intrigued by making things out of wood. This project was born from combining my passion for the ocean, timber, and sustainability. This is how I started creating ocean-inspired artworks from reclaimed timber.

Sara Buchner

@silvesterart

Marrickville-based artist and designer, Sara Buchner, is a printmaker, ceramicist and woodworker.

After taking art and woodworking in school, Sara studied and worked as an interior architect. This work, which has become largely computer-based, quickly led to a practice of pottery and printmaking after hours.

Keef Mctwist

I create collage for the people - using old magazines, coffee table books, any old thing. Mounted in recycled frames, includes a complementary wipe down with Windex.

Mark O’Ryan

markoryan.blogspot.com + @markoryan1

I manipulate machined, industrial materials like plywood into more organic forms that recall the materials origins in nature.

 My increasing use of found and reclaimed timber since joining Among The Trees has allowed me to tell stories of not only a materials connection to nature, but its connection to place and history.

Liz Duck-Chong

@shewooddothat + lizduckchong.com

As well as a co-owner of Among The Trees, Liz spends her spare time working on recycled timber instruments and other projects.
